Winning the Peace?
The Harper Conservatives have won the war (barely) in the last election. Yet are they being diligent in winnning the peace? With close door meetings, and no-questions-asked photo ops they look smug, scared, or like they're hiding something.
I hope it is merely a case of being a bit lazy after a gruelling campaign. But now is not the time for slumber or sloppy thinking---the Conservative victory is far too threadbare for that.

Must be a heck of a pile of reading to go through and a lot of shredded documents to tape back togethor ... haven't heard squat..

I'm waiting for them to repeal the gun registry and open the US border to the type of trade relations warranted by 200 years of peaceful coexistance and trade.
I'm not sure who to blame for the fact the Canadian border is being closed off to Canadian citizens travel and trade....but I think that it takes 2 to tango. 10 years of rabid socialist yankee-hate from the puerile foamy-mouthed Chretien didn't help but the Bush reaction making Canadians carry biometric ID cards to visit the US or to get state department permits to possess property in the US, is also the act of a puerile wanker.
Harper has a lot of repealing of bad law and patching of juvenile policy to do.....but first I want this gun registry to be part of history and the data destroyed so that no other specialinterests can attempt to remove the sovereingty of the canadian citizen by removing his right to own a gun to defend himself....against his foamy mothed government as well as US manifest destiny.

If the deeply compromised lame fix they did to the firearms act is any indication of how they carry out written partey policy and election promises, we can sing the famous line from the Who's opus "Won't be fooled again"..."welcome to the new boss....same as the old boss"....at least where keeping duck guns in a registry is concerned. The CPC changes keep the registry...they just make it paperless and more liable to create ciminals with the weak authorization process for buying a gun.
